When you find a room at one of the luxurious hotels around Fremont CA, click here, you will be amazed a the area. There is a lot going on in the surrounding areas. There is always the quick shot over to San Fransisco for a day on the Wharf or out circling Alcatraz. Or you can get a limo and go hit the near by wine country for some beautiful scenery and great wine tastings. Notice I said you could get a limo? Don’t drive or you will be passed out on Coppola’s Winery lawn from all the amazing wineries you won’t be able to keep yourself away from.

There are a few famous people who come from Fremont and still live in the area. Like the amazing and beautiful Kristi Yamaguchi. Her latest project was here very successful season on Dancing with the Stars. She got another win under her belt from that. I am sure that she has had plenty of dance lessons to go with her figure skating career and it showed in this reality TV dance contest. During the season she held the number one spot for six weeks. She had quite the different styles of dances to perform such as the Foxtrot, Mambo, Tango, Jive, Cha-Cha-Cha-, Samba, Viennese Waltz and Freestyle. She danced to songs such as Rio by Duran Duran, Hey Baby by No Doubt and The More I See You.

Her figure skating was the ultimate catalyst in getting her name splashed all over the news. She won the women’s singles in the 1992 Olympics. She won the World Figure Skating Championships in 1991 and 92. She has been inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. She has been a commentator for figure skating events during the 2006 Winter Olympics for NBC out of San Francisco. She worked very hard for many years and that work paid off. The world love to watch her skate and now she is a star from Fremont California.

The world tennis star Andrew Murray is only twenty-two years old and has already achieved more than what most professional players will throughout their entire career. This is an impressive status and Murray himself does not seem to be satisfied with the level he has reached. In the last year alone he has made progress on his clay court game, which has always been second to his hard court playing. He has won championships and is recognized throughout the world. Last year, in 2008 he was second to Roger Federer, finishing as the runner up in the US Open.

Murray plays right handed, backhand and two handed and is excellent with aggressive plays as well as swiftrank recovery both on the court and off. He was ranked as number two in the world during the summer of 2009 until he was unable to move beyond the fourth round in the US Open which placed him back to the world ranking of number four. It is through extreme efforts and determination that will improve that status in the future and the discipline to do so is owned by few players. This is in part what the recovery perspective deals with and is part of a continued career high progression.

He won his first major award when he was twelve years old and participated in the Orange Bowl. Winning this prestigious event gained him a high level of respect and attention. He later moved to Barcelona, Spain to study at the Schiller International School. These early years taught Murray his first sacrifice needs regarding choosing such a huge goal and life ambition. Moving away from his family and friend was difficult and so would be the opponents he would come to face on the court throughout his career. Sacrifice, discipline, endurance, and unbelievable hard work are the actual elements behind the perceived glamorous life of this and other sports stars. Murray has what it takes and it will be interesting to watch him throughout his career.

There are many popular cultural and entertainment aspects that are essential to the lifestyle and heritage of the residents of the beautiful city of Dubai. In addition, sports are extremely popular and cricket and football rank among the highest. Football, being the most popular sport in the city, has 5 main clubs to represent it. They are the Al Wasi, Al-Shabab, Al-Ahli, Al Nasar and Hatta. Not only is football popular among locals, and they are extremely passionate about it, it is also an attractive event for tourists to experience. The thrill of the game and the skill of the players makes for an extremely exciting adventure. Something that is sometimes surprising for Western tourists staying in Dubai UAE hotel is that football in this country is what they would consider to be soccer. When a resident of Dubai says football, they mean the literal foot – ball while Westerners associate it with the their own popular hand held running and passing of the ball, with only an occasional kick. The government of Dubai has initiatives that support this popular sport and incorporate it into all levels of skill and ages. Tournaments take place at the regional level at universities and school as well as at the national level. Games will spontaneously start up at major outdoor events and family gatherings. Tourists will not be surprised to find a game at the local park on any given day.

The second most popular sport, though also extremely popular and has the enthusiasm of most of the country, is cricket. Tennis and Golf are also popular though they don’t have the same level of passionate fans as football and cricket. Cricket is so popular that in 2005 the International Cricket Council decided to move its headquarters to Dubai, from London. This put the UAE in the international spotlight and demonstrated the enthusiasm felt for it by residents. In addition, Dubai has hosted numerous India-Pakistan matches and it has a perpetual increase in local leagues. While golf and tennis are not as popular, they are certainly supported and Dubai hosts an annual Tennis Championship as well as a Desert Classic golf tournament. These are prestigious events and professionals and stars in their sport attend from around the world.

When he steps onto the famous clay of Roland Garros in the third week in May, tennis’ Rafael Nadal will look to conquer Paris for the fifth consecutive year. If the premiere clay court player in the world continues his winning streak – which seems likely with his 141-4 tournament record on the tricky surface since 2005 – Nadal will be one win behind Bjorn Borg’s all-time French Open record.

But it won’t be easy, and even though he is the world’s top-ranked men’s player, Nadal cites his own perceived deficiencies on other surfaces as a reason Scottish player Andy Murray could come away the winner in Paris. “If you are good player, you are good player on any surface, no? Everybody talked about my game not being suited to grass, and I have been in three finals,” Nadal told The Guardian, underselling his Wimbledon win last summer.

“Andy’s an amazing player. He has this ability, when he needs, to raise his game to a different level, and he is improving that level everywhere.”

Murray made a memorable trip to the finals of the U.S. Open in 2008, but the experience and guile of Roger Federer was too much for him to overcome. Could this be the 21-year-old Murray’s first Grand Slam? Or will Nadal hold serve for a fifth straight year, putting him one step close to tennis history?

The French Open gets underway on May 24th.

The most loved and attended sport in Dubai is football. Many in the Emirate have become aficionados of the sport and the sport has created a niche for itself in this thriving city. Dubai is becoming a very progressive city, one of the most attractive cities of the world. Many visitors and businesses have been lured to the city over the years, and it has become known as the City of Gold. There is such a wide variety of architectural wonders, exhibiting true artist genius of the developers. The striking contrasts of Dubai is one of the aspects that defines the city and makes it such an attractive location. It is the perfect fusion of the west and the east. With the rate of growth and the ever increasing tourism sector many are traveling and supporting the businesses such as the five star Dubai hotels. This has created the perfect setting for the sport of football to really take off.

Government initiatives have been set into place that have insured that many tournaments are now being hosted by the city, as well as conventions and seminars surrounding the sport. Due to the growing popularity of the sport, projects have been underway for the construction of many state of the art stadiums, which has served to further the public interest and support. This has created quite a local fan base. With many of the locals having team favorites and local heroes. Many of the athletes are well known, as it has only been just recently that they have become famous, so many are still members of the communities they grew up in. Now, many of the children of Dubai are having dreams of making careers in football.
Over a hundred people gathered Saturday at Sunset Beach in Dubai, UAE to protest a local ban on surfing. Surfers argued that the death of a swimmer at the beach on Friday might have been prevented if there had been surfers present to help save him.

The city claims that surfers are hazardous to swimmers and have stepped up efforts to keep them off the beaches, fining anyone found with a surfboard in the ocean or on the beach. There have even been reports of fines issued to people who simply had a board in their cars. Police are confiscating drivers licenses until owners pay a fine of Dh200(US $54.45).

The protest organizer, Scott Chambers who is the director of Surf Dubai stated, “We have been surfing here since 1992 and to this date there have been no injuries to any swimmers through surfing on this strip.”

A further argument set forth by surfers is that there’s a tradition of surfers helping out swimmers in trouble. One of the protestors refuted the city, “There would have been surfers to pull out the person who drowned as we often do, but we were just too afraid to turn up, not knowing what to expect from the police and the municipality.”

Due to beach development projects such as the artificial islands, Sunset Beach is the only place in the emirate of Dubai that is conducive to surfing. The sport is popular not only with residents, some of whom are foreigners who list surfing as one of the reasons they moved to Dubai, but also with tourists. Many of the luxury hotels in Dubai UAE are located on or near the beaches and list surfing and other water sports as main attractions for holiday travelers.

An online petition of over 1,000 signatures will be presented to the city next week in an effort to get them to reverse the ban.

For a long time now, Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of mainland Spain has offered world travelers a place for fun in the sun and night-time entertainment. Long known for the variety and the amount of night clubs, and parties and festivals and five star hotels Ibiza has a growing reputation for much more. Families and others not so interested in late night entertainment, may discover that there is much more that this destination has to offer in the way of ‘good, clean’ fun. The sports and the sight seeing excursions lend so much more to one’s total adventure and experience.

Set in the blue of the Mediterranean Sea, with the mild oceanic temperature and the cool summer breezes felt on land, Ibiza has become a favorite vacation destination for Europeans and the rest of the world as well, to escape to the tropical tranquility that offers a peaceful retreat from the ‘real world’ hustle and bustle, or just plain dreary weather of their homeland. On any given afternoon, one can take in the beauty of the island from the air. From the view of the bird. If one is in-experienced there are classes and various places of instructions for activities such as hang-gliding or para sailing. If one is a bit timid about being so vulnerable to nature, there are many helicopter tours. This provides the same visual experience, while being safely tucked into a cockpit.

As far as land opportunities, there are golf and tennis court galore. There are jeep safaris, horseback rides and mountain bike paths that are amongst the best in the world. Not to mention, just a quiet hike or stroll on one of the many white sand beaches, be it at sunrise with a cup of coffee, or at sunset with a glass of wine. While one ponders the ocean at such a moment one may wonder what lies beneath. Look no further than scuba or deep sea diving, snorkeling or a picnic on a catamaran, it’s all here in Ibiza. For the in-experienced, there are lessons available. For the experienced seaman or diver, the clear blue waters, the vast marine life and the pure beauty of the natural world offer up an opportunity for an experience of a lifetime.

The U.S. Open tennis tournament is always exciting, especially when these two outstanding athletes play each other.

I always have to wonder how their father feels when they play each other. I’ve seen him sitting exactly at the net line so he won’t appear to be in favor of either one. I guess for him, as long as one of his girls wins, he wins. I just think it must be so difficult.

I wonder how Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will par. Nadal won the French Open and then 2 weeks later he won the Wimbledon. I bet one of two things: Federer will play with unyielding fury or he will be easily defeated.

Either way the tournament should be exciting and worth watching.

Taking on the life of a golf instructor is not as easy as just deciding to teach golf one day. Though experience and passion for the game play a strong role, becoming an instructor requires education just like any other profession. Without it, it is doubtful one can offer efficient golf instruction in a consistent manner. This is of great issue in a career that deals with people from all walks of life. An instructor must be able to relate to his or her students effectively in order to help them improve. Many assume teaching golf means just showing others how the game is played. However, an instructor must work from a dynamic of physical, mental and environmental factors to help students develop appropriately.

Unbeknownst to many, golf instructors spend a good amount of time getting their education in a classroom. When earning a degree from institutions such as San Diego Golf Academy, students are provided with a solid core of invaluable knowledge. These types of curriculums are prepared by professionals to give the skills one will need for a successful, long lasting golf career. Upon completing the curriculum, individuals will have the associate’s or bachelor’s degree that will help lead to the instructor’s job they have been dreaming of.

I hope the French Open tennis news coverage is good this year. It has been good in the years past but I think this year’s tournament is going to be something else. That’s because the ranking ATP number one tennis player, Roger Federer, is hoping to finally win the French Open tennis tournament. If he does, he will have a career Grand Slam.

In the world of tennis, the Grand Slam events are the Australian Open, then the French Open, followed by Wimbledon and then the U.S. Open. Next to the Olympics, these are the most prestigious tournaments for tennis. Federer has won all of them, more than once, except for the Roland Garros.

Hopefully this year’s tennis news will show Federer receiving the sterling silver trophy. He is number one in the world for a reason and I hope that when he retires, it is with a career Grand Slam.
