I am moving soon into a much larger apartment. I hope to not move again for quite some time. Investing in the interior decorating of my apartment seems like a waste to most people but to me, it is the logical thing to do. I am not planning on buying for quite some time but I want to like where I am living so I add things here and there to make it nicer.
I have painted the walls to match my decor and color choices. I have put up window blinds and curtains and I am planning of getting a couple of area rugs.
I don’t think that this is wasteful because it make my home more enjoyable and more comfortable to me and that is what counts. I want to come home and like where I live since I can’t buy a house now and all of those things are inexpensive.

No need to justify, just enjoy what you’ve created. Quality design always lasts a long time.
I personally see people who don’t take time to make their home comfortable as not appreciating themselves enough. You live there, you sleep there, you portray your home to guests and family members. Why not make it a special expression of yourself?
